Suriname

Located on the northeastern coast of South America, Suriname borders the Atlantic Ocean to the north, Brazil to the south, French Guiana to the east, and Guyana to the west. It has a landmass of approximately 163,820 km², making it the largest Dutch-speaking country by area, with a population of around 635,000 (2025).

Aruba

Aruba is an island located in the southern Caribbean Sea, about 25 kilometers north of the Venezuelan coast. With an estimated population of around 108,000 (2025), and a total land area of approximately 180 km², Aruba is one of the most densely populated territories in the region.

BES islands (Bonaire, Sint Eustatius, Saba)

The BES islands, also referred to as the Caribbean Netherlands, include Bonaire, Sint Eustatius (Statia) and Saba. These islands are located in the Caribbean and have been special municipalities of the Netherlands since October 10, 2010, following the dissolution of the Netherlands Antilles. While they are part of the Netherlands, they are classified as “public entities” (openbare lichamen) and have a distinct, simplified fiscal regime separate from the European Netherlands.

Curaçao

Curaçao is located in the southern Caribbean Sea, just north of Venezuela, and is the largest island of the former Netherlands Antilles. With an area of 444 km² and a population of approximately 156,000 (2025), it is a major regional hub in the Dutch Caribbean.

Sint Maarten

Sint Maarten occupies the southern part of the island of Saint-Martin and shares a border with the French overseas collectivity of Saint-Martin. It covers an area of 34 km² and has a population of approximately 44,000 (2025).
